At the Conglomerate Cliffs you stand on the edge of a cliff and look approximately 30 metres down. Below is Adams Lake. The cliff you stand on is a rock formation that is unique to the Cypress Hills.
Gravel and stones called cobbles have been cemented together by calcium carbonate that precipitates out from water draining at the cliff's edge. It was created over time with enormous amounts of pressure. This conglomerate is like an armour-like cap that protects the Cypress Hills from wind and water erosion.
Just a short drive from Fort Walsh & Cypress Hills Massacre National Historic Sites, it is well worth while to stop and explore.
