All hiking and snowshoeing trails are open with up to 25 cm of snow cover with icy, muddy and bare sections.

 

Road Report

All main park roads west of Highway 41 are open except Murray Hill Road west of Horseshoe Canyon Viewpoint to Head of the Mountain is closed. The open gravel roads are in mostly good condition with some muddy sections.

Reesor Lake Road is open to the far end of Reesor Lake and across the dam bridge up to the Reesor Lake Campground gate; and Spruce Coulee Road is open and in good condition until the parking lot area at Spruce Coulee which is very muddy.

All other main park roads are closed: Bull Trail from Reesor Lake Road to the park's south boundary, Graburn Road the entire length from Highway 41 east to the Battle Creek Road, the Battle Creek Road, and Murray Hill Road west of Horseshoe Canyon Viewpoint.

The snowmobile area in the Centre Block is open. Loading/unloading area is located at the ball diamond. Snowmobiles are not allowed outside of the designated snowmobile area. The snowmobile area includes the area on the west side of Bald Butte Road to the west park boundary.

No snowmobiling allowed in the West Block.

As of January 15, 2013 the cross-country ski trails in the Centre Block are groomed and set. There are a total of 27 km of cross-country ski trails with 10 km groomed and set starting from the Resort parking lot. The route follows Woodlands Trail from the resort, crosses over Pine Avenue and onto Moose Trail. Moose Trail circles the campgrounds of Rainbow, Warlodge, old Pine Hill, and Terrace. This loop is bordered by Bald Butte Road, cypress Drive and Pine Avenue. Deer Trail and Squirrel Run are also groomed.

There is a 20 cm base with 25 cm of new snow.

Snowshoe conditions are perfect at this time with over 40cm of snow.

Roads in the Centre Block

Highway #221 access off Hwy #21 into the Centre Block is open. Cypress Drive to Pine Avenue and to the Resort at Cypress Hills is open. Cypress Drive to Bald Butte Road to the snowmobile unloading area is open. Access roads to cottage subdivisions are open. Loch Leven road around the loch is open with access to the admin office/visitor centre.
